Student Media Contests

CCIM Outreach hosts a student competition each spring honoring the outstanding journalism, media and communication work of middle and high school students. Whatever field you’re into, there’s something for everyone from writing to design, social media engagement, art, speech and photography.

JDay+/CCIM+

JDay+/CCIM+ is Ball State University’s renowned journalism, media and communications conference for middle and high school students and teachers! This one-day conference brings nearly 1,000 students and teachers to campus each spring to learn and grow as writers, designers, communicators, video and audio producers, and media strategists.

ESPORTS CAMPS

Ball State’s CCIM Outreach offers a series of summer esports camps for middle and high school students looking to develop new skills and find new passions as esports players and producers. No experience necessary. Grant-funded camps are competitively selected with limited availability.

CCIM+ Summer Speech Camp

Want to learn or up your speech performance or competition game? We’ve got you covered! At Ball State’s Speech Camp, students will have a blast learning the nuances of speaking and expression and growing their skills in one of two tracks: public speaking or oral interpretation.

CCIM Jump Start

The CCIM Jump Start program helps communication studies, computer technology, journalism, strategic communication, and media majors establish early relationships with faculty and classmates, learn about CCIM student engagement opportunities, and explore the abundance of careers available in a media or communications-focused field.
